Some Endemic Insects of Hawai’i Island and Why They’re Amazing!

What insects are actually endemic to Hawai’i Island…meaning they are native to the Big Island and nowhere else on the planet?! Come listen in with a talk by Dr. Camiel Doorenweerd of the University of Hawai’i Insect Museum as he highlights a variety of native insects endemic to this island, their host plant or environment, and why they’re amazing. Come with your native insect questions! The presentation will also feature photographs from the U.H. Insect museum collection that can be used as reference photographs for art, including entries for the annual Hawai’i Nei Art Exhibition at the Wailoa Center in Hilo!
