Our partners at the Mauna Kea Watershed Alliance are hiring temporary field positions to help protect our Hilo watershed from invasive species. Contact them if you want to work outdoors, up on the mountain, and get involved with conservation!
MKWA will be hiring a small temporary field team (one team leader and up to three field assistants); work includes mostly fence installation in remote areas and restoration including out-planting to ensure and increase forest health at ahupua’a Pi’ihonua (mauka section). We’re hoping to get a MKWA team leader in position a few weeks before the field assistants start. Here’s the main elements of the temporary hire:
1. Temporary for 20 weeks at full time, the schedule is M-F four ten-hour days (7-5:30p). There might be camping as well depending on project needs.
2. Base of operations is out of Hilo, Hawaii
3. Some benefits include project supported training and health insurance after a waiting period.
4. Closing date March 12, 2021 but we are seeking to fill the positions as soon as possible.
Please contact Cheyenne Perry at (808) 937-5170 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to apply.
