Description: Evergreen shrub or medium sized tree. Also know as glory bush or princess flower.
Flower: Various sizes of purple flowers.
Leaves: Fuzzy with prominent longitudinal veins. Some species have thinner leaves and others have round broad leaves.
Fruit: Egg shaped, brown woody capsule filled with tiny seeds.
Impacts: Forms monotypic thickets that outcompete and displace native plants. All Tibouchina species are considered invasive in Hawaii.
