Description: An evergree, climbing thorny shrub. Covers other shrubs and trees up to 33′.
Flower: It has a fragrant white flower with yellow stamens, about 2-4″ in diameter.
Leaves: Glossy, green, and smooth. About 1-4″ that grow sparsely normally in groups of 3.
Fruit: Bristly bright red fruits about .75-1.5″ diameter. Liked by birds.
Impacts: Smothers native vegetation and inhibits germination and growth of native plants. Can grow to form impenetrable barriers to hikers in the forest. Birds feed on the fruit and spread the seeds to new areas and into forests.
